Weaving Together the Threads and Pieces of Our Lives

Bring a Quilt to Church Sunday

One of the women featured in Mary Catherine Bateson’s book, Composing a Life, proclaims about her life: “Even if on the surface it looks like some goofy quilt, it really does make sense.” Our lives can sometimes feel like grand and crazy quilts. The odd pieces of our lives can come together in patterns of bright surprise. We may discover that we can have many beginnings and many endings. And, like the pieces of a quilt, these various beginning and endings can fit into a satisfying and creative whole.

Please bring a quilt to the Zoom service and display it to be seen in the service. If there is a short (2 sentence!) story you want to tell about your quilt, we’ll have a time to share stories during the service.
