Reflections on the History, People and Culture of the Lenape

Communal worship is often a means of celebration, but can also include confession, seeking new ways of being, acknowledgment of strong feelings and witnessing to a larger truth. Today we honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day in an attempt to learn, to heal and to grow. From the literal and figurative whitewashing of Columbus Day, we strive for a more complete and accurate history of our country and of ourselves. Let us come with humility and vulnerability to this service of grief, truth, witness and reconciliation.
