Raison d’Etre: Searching for Love, Truth, Beauty, Perhaps Even God

Via ZOOM, we’ll join the service presented at the Buxmont Fellowship by Rev. Art Severance. The French term, raison d’etre, can be translated as “reason for being or the purpose for someone’s existence.” The service title derives from the one for the first service Rev. Severance presented at Buxmont in 1981, when he was a brand-new member and before he became a minister. The service combined his creative photography and his music into a slide show accompanied by original and favorite folk music of the 60’s and 70’s. Within a year of joining the Buxmont Fellowship, he decided to become a Unitarian Universalist minister. He was ordained by the Buxmont Fellowship in 1987, and has spent more than 30 years in ministry in congregations in PA, NJ, NY, OH, and CA.
