Attention as the Wellspring of Devotion: The Living Legacy of Poet Mary Oliver

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver (1935-2019) was Ware Lecturer at the 2006 Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly. In introducing Oliver, then UUA President Rev. William G. Sinkford described her as “one of our most important liturgists,” and he went so far as to say that, while Unitarian Universalism draws from many sources, it draws from “none more effectively or more frequently than the work of Mary Oliver.”
