TPUUF to host Active Shooter Preparedness Training

Be Prepared and Plan to Survive!

The Pennsylvania State Police, Intelligence Division, Domestic Security section, is providing a 2-hour Active Shooter Presentation, free of charge at Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 7pm. The goal is to prepare individuals in the event that they are involved in an active shooter situation.

The presentation is designed to cover all venues, including but not limited to, commerce, education, open spaces, places of worship, and public settings. Individuals taking the course will be better prepared to not only ACT, but REACT during an active shooter event. The discussion will cover associated behaviors, thoughts and feelings to indicate that someone my be disgruntled at their job, in their personal life, or with society. Triggering events that may cause individuals to become an active shooter are also discussed.

Audio and video clips are utilized to get everyone into the mindset of what may occur during an during active shooter situation, and to try to realistically have them feel involved.
