TPUUF Building Closure Policy / Event Cancellation

(Approved by the Board on December 12, 2007)

The board president of Thomas Paine UU Fellowship, consulting with the minister, will make the decision to close the fellowship building for congregation-wide events, including regular Sunday services and congregational meetings.

If the president is unavailable, the vice president will act in his/her stead.  If neither the president nor the vice president is available, the treasurer and then the secretary will act in this capacity.

The decision to close will be made NO LATER THAN 3 hours before the fellowship event and shared as quickly as possible with the Board of Trustees.  Board members will contact all TPUUF members and friends at least 90 minutes before the event.

The decision also will be announced through the TPUUF Web Vine email list, on the main page of the TPUUF Web site and on the TPUUF phone answering machine at least 90 minutes prior to the event.

The building closure will affect all events (INCLUDING COMMITTEE MEETINGS) held at the fellowship on the day of the closure.  IF AN EVENT (OTHER THAN THOSE LISTED ABOVE) IS HELD DURING WHICH THERE MAY BE SNOW OR ICE, THE EVENT SPONSOR/ORGANIZER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEARING THE STAIRS AND WALKWAYS IN FRONT OF AND IN BACK OF THE BUILDING.  IF AN EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO FOUL WEATHER, THE EVENT SPONSOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALERTING ATTENDEES PRIOR TO THE EVENT VIA WEBVINE AND/OR PHONE CALLS.
