Peace, Liberty, and Justice for All

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” From the very birth of our country, brave men and women took these words from our Declaration of Independence to heart. They believed in an America of, for and by the people, and have worked tirelessly against powerful forces to create a society with more freedom and justice for ALL Americans. This is our American tradition, and our UU tradition as well: to value the inherent worth and dignity of our fellow men (and women), to uphold democracy, and to advocate for a world where we value peace over war.
