We’ve all had wilderness experiences–times when life confronts us with uncertainty, fear and discomfort. The season of Lent observed in Christian faith communities worldwide invites us to embrace the wilderness and see what it has to teach us. Reverend Libby Smith received her M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School in 1992. She has served Unitarian Universalist congregations in Rockport, MA, Warrington, PA, and Langhorne, PA and was chaplain for five years at Unitarian Universalist House, a small nursing home in Philadelphia. Now retired from congregational service, she provides rites of passage, pulpit supply and workshops on request.
