Ask Dr. Hooker−the Perennial Problems of Congregations

In a search for guidance for today, Dave brings to light a recently discovered trove of letters to and from the Rev. Dr. Thomas Hooker, a mid-17th century congregational consultant, who was based in Hartford, Connecticut. A graduate of Princeton University, the Harvard Law School, and Wesley Theological Seminary, Dave was an attorney in the Voting Section of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division from 1975 to 2000. Dave and his wife, the Rev. Kerry Mueller, were the co-ministers for the UU Fellowship of Fayetteville, Arkansas, from 2006 to 2011, and the co-ministers, part time, for the Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg, from 2012 to 2017. Now retired, they are members of the Main Line Unitarian Church, in Devon. Dave most recently preached for us in August 2017.
