We currently provide Children’s Faith Development classes on a rotating schedule with Kindergarten through Third Grade classes on the first and third Sunday of the month and Fourth through Sixth Grade classes on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.  Our Youth Group meets on the First and Third Sunday evening each month and is offered for children in grades 7+.

Our program has been developed in order to provide various learning opportunities for our children to learn and grow in their faith.

We currently offer:

Kindergarten through Third Grade:  This class is held during Sunday service on the first and third Sunday of the month.  Our K-3 class will explore UUA Tapestry of Faith curriculum World of Wonder.  “This program delves deep into our Unitarian Universalist seventh Principle. It instills respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part, and appreciation of its beauty, excitement, and mystery. It is founded on the premise that direct experience in nature is essential to children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development.”

Fourth through Sixth Grade:  Our 4-6 class will explore Harry and UU – “Harry and UU is based on the Harry Potter series of books by J.K. Rowling, books that immerse children in the idea that one can work to make the world better.

The curriculum includes many fun wizarding activities, but the main purpose of the curriculum is social action.  The class forms a chapter of Dumbledore’s Army and fights against seven Horcruxes during the year .  The Horcruxes are real world social action projects.”

Children’s Chapel This is a special multi-age offering which is a child centered miniature version of a worship service.  This allows our younger congregants to feel empowered to participate in a service and gain a better understanding of the elements of a service.  Upcoming Dates:  9/10/17, 11/26/17, 12/31/17, 4/1/17, 6/17/17.

Multi-Generational Services We offer special services throughout the year that are specially designed to speak to audiences of all ages.  These will include our Pet Blessing on 10/1/17, a musical celebration in honor of Pete Seeger on 5/6/17 and our end-of-year CFD Celebration Service on 6/3/17.
