New reimbursement forms for committee use
Attached, please find a copy of the new purchase request that will be used effective July, 1 2010. They will help each committee chair get a better handle on how the money for that committee is spent; these forms are to be filled out BEFORE any purchases are made. They are to be filled out and signed with the estimated cost by the committee chair. After the purchase is made, the actual cost is filled in and the form is then turned in to the Treasurer. It is imperative that these forms be filled out completely and receipts are attached in order to be reimbursed. These forms will replace the old ones that were previously used. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please do not hestiate to contact Shannon Szilagyi, the incoming treasurer, at crystalrose331@verizon.net.

Youth auction off quilt for Haitian relief

Hello all,
This year, 10 of our 5th-8th graders participated in a service project group on the last Sunday of the month.
(Chalices were designed by Matt, Stephanie, Maya, Elizabeth, Kim, Tucker, Hope, Hannah, Emma, and Kelly.) During the year this group of kids helped make a quilt to raise money to support relief to animals in Haiti in support of our 7th UU principle. The auction was held and the winning bid was $250!
The quilt made by the SOS youth group will support the animals of Haiti through the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). If you would like to learn more about the IFAW organization, please click this link to see their website:
The quilt was shared with the congregation Children’s Religious Education celebration on June 13.
Life Stories (Welcoming Congregation)
Everyone has a story! Some are long, others short. Some stories you learn from, others you do not. Some stories you understand, others you cannot. Some stories you tolerate, others you accept with open arms. Which one of these stories is yours?
The Calling
Sometimes it is a job or a hobby. Sometimes what we do feels more like a “call,” though from or to whom or what is not always clear. We will explore some of our callings.
