Approved by the Fellowship at the Annual Meeting, March 23, 2002
MISSION
We are a welcoming and nurturing community dedicated to:
- Inspiring spiritual growth and fellowship for adults and children.
- Caring for our environment, promoting social justice, and equality in the larger community.
VISION
The vision of what we hope to be in 5 years. It is our “dream for the future” and will continue to grow and evolve as we change.
Our mindset and involvement reach beyond our own Fellowship to the wider community and our denominational purposes.
Programs, Activities, and Social Action:
- We have one Sunday service with a regular children’s moment. There are numerous inter¬generational activities and services. We have a strong youth program that develops leader¬ship through participation in all levels of UU activities. There is a high level of lay involvement in the services.
- Social action is a prominent focus in our Fellowship. Our commitment to social justice is well known in the community as a result of our ongoing activities and programs. Our budget for social action increases each year as our outreach and activism grows.
Size: We see ourselves growing to a congregation of 250 adults and 150 children.
Staff: We envision one full-time minister and one half-time minister. We envision a full-time director of religious education and a part-time secretary.
Building: We have expanded the space in our building in an environmentally conscious manner. We have limited the expansion of the building footprint. The building space is well used and handicapped accessible. We use solar power and natural cooling. We have accommodated our parking needs without the use of additional asphalt. The benefits that we and the community receive far outweigh the cost of the expansion.
